Boboye rues defeat at Akwa Utd
Plateau United head coach Kennedy Boboye has said he expects his side's unbeaten run in the top-flight to come to an end one day, but not against Akwa United.
The league leaders went down 1-2 at Akwa United in Sunday’s top-flight matchday 8 clash at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Substitute Chima Ndukwu’s consolation goal proved nothing against the crucial goals off the foot of duo Christian Pyagbara and Alhassan Ibrahim for the Uyo outfit.
Boboye said his attackers were not clinical at goal or else the result would have been quite different.
“I know that one day our unbeaten run in the league will come to an end, but not against Akwa United as I’m not really convinced and impressed with their performance in the clash.
“The attackers were poor. If they had converted the chances at goal, we would have even scored with Akwa United.
“Well, we have lost this particular match at Akwa United we will get back home to be ready for the clash against Niger Tornadoes.
“We will work very hard to reclaim the points as well as get back to winning ways once again,” said the former Abia Warriors and Sunshine Stars coach to supersport.com.
Plateau United still lead the 20-team top-flight on 17 points, despite defeat at Akwa United, from a possible 24 in the eight-week-old top-flight.
